Built in, not extensions

Much of what other editors add with extensions is built into Piye and set in Settings:

  • formatting with the project's own Prettier, and each language's formatter;
  • ESLint as you type, with its fixes;
  • Tailwind CSS class completion;
  • Git marks in the editor and the Explorer;
  • problems at the end of their line;
  • the Markdown preview;
  • 20+ languages' language servers and debuggers (see Languages);
  • 32 colour themes and three icon themes (see Themes and icons).

Piye uses each project's own installs of tools like Prettier and ESLint, so the editor agrees with your project's command line.

OXP

OXP (oxp.sh) is an open protocol and registry for packaging what extends an AI coding environment: UI pieces, MCP servers and skills.

  • The Extensions view lists the OXP extensions installed on this computer; search them by name.
  • The OXP view shows the OXP catalog.
  • Skills installed with OXP appear in the Code agent's skills. See Rules, memory and skills.

The Marketplace

The Marketplace (CmdShiftX) is where you connect MCP servers, the tools the Code agent can use, such as GitHub, Figma or a database. See MCP and the Marketplace.
