In the open file
- Find: CmdF.
- Replace: CmdAltF on a Mac (CtrlH on Windows and Linux).
- CmdG moves to the next match on a Mac.
Across the project
- Find in Files: CmdShiftF opens the Search view with your words.
- Replace in Files: CmdShiftH.
Results are grouped by file; click one to open it at the match (Expand all and Collapse all open or close the groups). Open the replace box with Toggle Replace, then use Replace in file or Replace All.
Options
- Match case: only matches with the same capitals. Without it, search is case-insensitive until you type a capital letter (smart case).
- Whole word: only whole words, not parts of longer ones.
- File filters: Files to include (for example
*.ts, src/) and Files to exclude (for example*.md).
Ask the agent
To find something by meaning rather than by words ("where do we charge the card?"), ask the Code agent in Ask mode. It searches the project, reads what it finds and answers with the files and lines. See Ask, Build, Architect, Debug.
