Piye

Piye Code

Code is Piye's IDE for developers. An editor with language intelligence, a terminal, source control, a debugger, simulators, deploy and operations, with the Code agent working beside you.

What Code is

Code is a full IDE, built into Piye. It opens any project on your computer, whatever it's written in, and gives you:

  • An editor with tabs, splits, language intelligence (completions, errors, go to definition, rename, format) for 20+ languages, Tab suggestions and inline edit. See The editor.
  • A terminal with command cards and project-aware suggestions, or a classic terminal. See Terminal.
  • Source control with Git: stage, commit, branches, diffs, pull and push. See Source control.
  • Run and debug for each language, and a Testing panel. See Run and debug.
  • Apps, simulators and devices for phone and desktop apps. See Apps and previews.
  • Deploy and Operations: ship to your hosts and stores, and watch production. See Deploy.
  • The Code agent, an AI engineer that reads, plans, edits, runs and checks, with every change reviewable and undoable. See The Code agent.
  • Piye Studio, a window for running the agent across many projects. See Piye Studio.

Piye is not a fork of another editor. Its editor is built on Monaco, the editing engine behind VS Code, and its language features use the standard language servers.

One project, two sides

The Visual and Code buttons at the top of the window switch between Piye's two sides, on the same project. A founder can build in Visual while you work in Code: their changes are real commits in the project's history, and yours show up in their preview. There's nothing to export or sync.

Your project stays yours

A project is a normal folder. Piye keeps its own notes in a .piye folder (see The .piye folder), keeps your secrets in the system's secure storage, and runs your project's own tools. Close Piye and your repository is exactly what it was.
