What MCP is
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI agents to other tools. Each connection is a small server that gives the agent tools: read GitHub issues, query a database, look at a Figma frame, post to Slack. Once connected, the Code agent uses them when your request needs them.
The Marketplace
Open it from the title bar's Marketplace button or with CmdShiftX. It lists servers by category, including:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Design | Figma, Framer, Canva, Webflow |
| Collaboration | GitHub, Git, Notion, Linear, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Asana, monday.com, Discord, HubSpot |
| Infrastructure | Vercel, Cloudflare, Railway, Hostinger, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Sentry, Datadog |
| Databases | Postgres, Supabase, MongoDB, Redis, SQLite, Prisma, Firebase |
| Payments | Stripe, and payment providers in the Middle East and Turkey |
| Identity | Auth0, Clerk, WorkOS |
| Mobile and testing | Expo, Playwright, Puppeteer |
| Search and more | Brave Search, Fetch, Memory, Sequential thinking |
Press Connect:
- most servers sign you in to the service in your browser;
- if a card asks for an address or a key, paste it into the card. Piye keeps keys in your computer's secure storage, never in a file;
- Piye writes the connection for you. No editing
mcp.jsonby hand.
Disconnect removes it. The web console's Marketplace page lists the same servers from the OXP registry.
Your own servers
Settings, Integrations lists servers Connected and Available to connect, and lets you:
- Add a server (a command to start, or an address);
- Reveal mcp.json and edit it yourself, then Reload from mcp.json;
- remove a server.
Servers for every project live in Piye's own mcp.json; a project can list its own in .piye/mcp.json. A project's servers from a folder you haven't trusted stay off until you trust it.
Safety
- The first time the agent uses a server's tool in a chat, Piye asks: Allow once, Allow for this chat or Don't. Tools the server marks as read-only run without asking.
- Everything a server returns is labelled as outside text: information, never instructions from you.
- Visual's agent doesn't use MCP servers.
