Piye

Piye Studio

Piye Studio is a window for running the Code agent across all your projects at once. Each project keeps its chats and its agent; you review every change, then commit.

What it is

Piye Studio is a separate window built around the Code agent. Where Code is one project with an editor, Studio is all your projects with their chats: ask, plan, build or fix in several at once, and review what each agent did.

Open it from Piye Studio in the title bar, or from the Code start screen. It stays open when you close the IDE window.

The Agents sidebar

On the left, every project you've opened in Piye, each with its chats and its agent. New chat starts one in that project; Add a project brings in another folder. Each chat shows its progress while its agent works, so you can follow several at once.

The default project (bottom of the sidebar) is where a new chat goes when you don't pick one.

Starting a chat

The home screen asks What should Piye do? Pick the project, its branch and where it runs (This Mac, or a repository from GitHub), choose the mode, model and effort, and describe the task. Ready-made starts include:

  • Explain this project: how it's put together, and where to start.
  • Fix what's broken: find the errors and fix them.
  • Review my changes: what changed, and what could break, like a pull request review.
  • Plan a feature: design, files, risks and a test plan, before code.
  • Map the architecture, Triage failing checks and Cover the changes with tests.

Reviewing and committing

For each chat, Review changes shows the diff in four views: Last Agent Turn, Uncommitted, Staged and Unstaged. Undo a file, or put everything back as it was before the chat. The commit bar commits on the project's branch; with Write the message from the chat on (Settings, Version Control), the message starts as what you asked.

Side panels show each project's source control, tests, Operations and live files.

Skills

The Skills panel lists the default project's skills (its own, Piye's built-in ones, and OXP's): switch them on or off, or create a new one. See Rules, memory and skills.

Bring your chats

Bring your chats imports conversations from Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Pick the chats; each is saved as a Piye chat in its own project, so the agent picks up where that tool left off. The originals stay where they are.

One agent per project

Each project has one agent at a time. If a project's agent is busy in another chat or window, Studio says so, and your message waits.
