What App Operations is
Building an app is half the work; running it is the other half. App Operations looks at your app and asks the questions a good operations team would, in plain words:
- Is it protected, and will you know when it breaks?
- Can people find you on Google?
- Do you know what visitors do?
- Do you get paid, and keep the revenue?
- Do you keep talking to your users?
- Do you know which channel brings customers?
- Can it ship to the stores?
Each question shows what's in place and what's missing, with a way to fix it.
Open it from the App Operations card on the Blueprint. Its tabs are Operations, Traffic, Automations, Edge Rules and Simulation.
Protection
What's already in your code, and what to add:
- Security headers that stop common tricks (like another site showing yours inside a frame) and force secure connections.
- Rate limits, so one visitor can't hammer your sign-in, sign-up or forms.
- Bot protection on forms and sign-up.
- A consent banner, needed for EU and UK visitors when you use cookie analytics or ad tracking.
Some rules (firewall, country access, rate limits) are applied by Piye's hosting setup when you publish.
Automations
- Email foundation: connect an email service once (Resend is the quickest start, free, and keeps your email list), set your founder inbox (where Piye sends you sign-up alerts, reports and downtime alerts) and your live address. Piye checks that your domain is set up so emails reach inboxes (SPF, DKIM and DMARC).
- Uptime check: a check that runs every 10 minutes from GitHub, outside your app, so it still works when the app is down. Three failed checks in a row email your founder inbox.
- Email automations, such as a welcome series. Your keys stay on your computer and go only to the email service.
Growth
- Search: whether each page has a description and a share picture, so links look good when shared and Google shows the right words.
- Analytics: connect an analytics service to see where people drop off, and capture where sign-ups come from.
- Ad tracking for websites, after cookie consent.
- Languages: whether your app covers the markets you picked.
- Customers by stage: people recognised at sign-up, by activity, and paying customers through Stripe, so you can reach each at the right moment.
Watching your live app from anywhere
Once your app is published, the web console on piye.dev checks its live address every 5 minutes (uptime, response time, certificates and security headers) and emails you when something changes. See The web console.
