Working from the first minute
Most apps need the same building blocks: people sign in, the app sends emails, takes payments, keeps information, and sometimes checks a phone number or uses AI. Setting these up usually means creating accounts with several companies and copying keys around.
While you build in Visual, Piye provides them for you, so your app works in the preview right away, with nothing to set up.
| Service | While you build | When you go live |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Email and password, and "Continue with Google", through Piye | Email sign-in keeps working; Google needs your own Google sign-in app |
| Every email lands in Piye's Outbox | Your email service (Resend) and a domain you own | |
| Payments | Stripe test mode, through Piye | Your own Stripe account: test first, then real money |
| Phone verification | Codes land in the Outbox | Your Twilio account |
| Database | A private database Piye makes for your app | Piye makes the live database for you, at no cost; you can claim it into your own account later |
| AI in your app | Piye's AI, paid from your credits | Your own AI key (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) |
The demo account
Every app with sign-in gets a demo account while you build, so you (and Piye's checks) can sign in and try everything. The chat shows its email and password after a build. It is never shown in your app, and emails to it stay in the Outbox.
Going live on your own accounts
Your published app runs on your accounts, not Piye's: your customers, your payments, your data. When you publish, Piye checks what your app connects to and asks for one account at a time, with step-by-step help for each. Your keys are kept in your computer's secure storage and sent only to your host when you publish. See Going live on your own accounts.
AI in your app
If your app uses AI (a chat assistant, writing help, answers from your documents), it works while you build on Piye's AI, paid from your credits. When you go live, add your own AI key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google; until then, the live app answers with a basic model through your host.
